Earth Strap

Ever since buying my little light blue van it has been very difficult to start usually requiring a jump start. I tracked it down to be the earth strap causing the problem. As you can see from the pictures below it was definately on it's last legs.

It's very easy to replace the earth strap - just disconnect it at either end and install the new one in the same place. Be careful not to shear off the nuts/studs though.

This is the new earth strap installed (the nice shiney cable). I know I need to get those HT leads tidied up!!

The earth strap I used on my van was sold as an earth strap for a Mini and was purchased off Ebay for about £4 including postage.

The van now starts and runs perfectly!
